Privacy Policy
I run wc26watch.com as a free guide to watching the 2026 FIFA World Cup. This policy explains what data I collect (almost nothing), what I don't, and what your rights are.
What I collect
Nothing from you directly. The site has no account system, no login, no email signup, no comment section. You don't give me your data.
Server logs (via Vercel). When you visit, Vercel logs your IP address, browser type, referrer, and the page you requested. Logs are kept ~30 days by Vercel and used to debug crashes and detect abuse. I don't enrich, sell, or share them.
Browser language. The site reads navigator.language in your browser to detect your country and show the right broadcaster. This stays on your device. Nothing is sent to me.
What I don't collect
- No first-party cookies set by this site.
- No name, email, location, phone.
- No behavioural profiling. No Google Analytics, no Hotjar, no tracking pixels, no user-level fingerprinting.
Aggregated page-view counts (Vercel Web Analytics)
The site uses Vercel Web Analytics to count how many people visit each page. It's cookieless, doesn't set localStorage, doesn't fingerprint, and doesn't follow you between sites. I see numbers like "the BBC iPlayer guide had 450 visitors yesterday." I don't see who you are. Vercel's privacy details: vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.
Third-party cookies (when you click affiliate links)
When you click an affiliate link (the "Watch the match" button, the "Shop on Amazon" button, etc.), the destination site may set its own cookies to track that you came from wc26watch.com. That's how the site is funded. You don't pay extra. I don't see your data, I just see whether someone bought.
The third parties that set these cookies follow their own privacy policies. Notably:
You can disable third-party cookies in your browser if you'd rather not be tracked.
CDN requests
To display country flags, fonts, and images, your browser fetches assets from:
flagcdn.com(flag images)fonts.googleapis.comandfonts.gstatic.com(Google Fonts)images.unsplash.com(hero and picks photos)cdn.tailwindcss.com(the CSS framework)
These services see your IP when your browser fetches assets. They follow their own privacy policies.
Your rights
If you're in the EU, GDPR gives you the right to know what data is held about you and to request deletion. Since I collect nothing personal from you directly, there's nothing for me to delete. If you want Vercel to remove your IP from server logs sooner than the usual ~30 days, contact me and I'll forward the request.
